It's scary movie season with Halloween approaching, so I'm curious to know what you think are the scariest movies of all time?  I read that Martin Scorsese lists these movies as his scariest movies of all time:

1)  The Haunting

2)  Isle of the Dead

3)  The Uninvited

4)  The Entity

5)  Dead of the Night

6)  The Changeling

7)  The Shining

8)  The Exorcist

9)  The Demon

10)  The Innocents

11)  Psycho

I haven't seen all of these movies, but of the ones I've seen, I would put them in this order:

The Shining

The Exorcist

The Innocents

The Changeling

Psycho

I think Psycho is a great movie, but I don't really see it as a "scary movie". 

These "scary movies" from the '50s and '60s I find really play on the social mores and taboos of the time.  What do you think?
